Occupational Therapy for Children and Young Adults
The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable children and younger adults to participate in the activities of everyday life.
At OT Dynamics we pride ourselves on providing family centred assessment and therapy support following best practice guidelines. We work with children and young adults of all ages and their families, to help enhance skills necessary for their everyday life including play and leisure, self-care skills and skills for childcare, kinder and/or school. Occupational therapy can also address social, psychological and environmental factors impacting on the child and younger adults life. This may include making changes to their environment such as school or home to help them be more independent.
Our experienced paediatric occupational therapists can provide therapy support to children and young adults of all ages in the following areas:
- Fine Motor Skills
- Tool Use (involves utilising objects within the hand such as cutlery, scissors or pencils)
- Handwriting
- Gross Motor Skills
- Self-Care Skills (dressing, toileting and grooming)
- Feeding Skills (including fussy eaters and children with food aversions)
- Sensory Processing (self-regulation and behaviour)
- Cognitive and Perceptual skills (attention, concentration, organisational skills, executive functioning and visual perception)
- Play Skills
- Social Skills

Speech Pathology for Children
Speech Pathology supports children to build speech, language and communication skills essential for learning, connecting with others and enjoying activities.
Our Speech Pathologists can assist children of all ages and their families in the following areas:
- Speaking clearly and being understood
- Using language to express ideas and feelings
- Understanding language, word meanings and instructions
- Developing conversation skills and communicating with others
- Assessment and prescription of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems
- Developing language and social interaction skills through play or everyday activities
- Building early literacy skills (reading and writing)

Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Program
At OT Dynamics we offer both AHA and Therapy Assistant programs.
Our AHA or therapy assistants support qualified occupational therapists and speech pathologists in delivering high-quality therapy plans:
- Allow clients access to more frequent sessions to work towards agreed goals
- Provide cost-effective services under professional guidance
- Offer increased skill reinforcement and practice, and work in various environments.
- Closely monitor client progress and promptly report challenges or successes to therapists, while also producing resources at a reduced cost

Our group programs are developed by our experienced therapists to meet our clients needs, and are facilitated by OT’s, SP’s and AHA/therapy assistants.
